Click here to download the PDF Computational models of episodic memory constitute mechanistically explicit theories of how we recall previously experienced events, and how we recognize stimuli as having been encountered previously. Because these models concretely specify the algorithms that govern recall and recognition, researchers can run computer simulations of these models to explore how (according to a particular model) different manipulations will affect recall and recognition performance. |
