Paul aims to decode and manipulate the neural contents of perception and memory with the aid of computational models. He is currently developing a “mental etch-a-sketch” capable of reconstructing seen or imagined visual input from neural activity, and is investigating how visual memories can be pushed together and pulled apart using real-time, closed-loop systems.
